But there are very few that feel original.
On my most recent trip, I stayed at Nolinski Venezia, and it completely changed how I experienced the city. Not because it was flashy. Not because it was historic in the obvious Venetian way. But because it felt unexpected.
And in Venice, that’s rare.

Where Is Nolinski Venezia Located?
Nolinski Venezia is located on Calle Larga XXII Marzo, steps from Piazza San Marco in Venice’s luxury shopping district.
Set just off Piazza San Marco, Nolinski sits on Calle Larga XXII Marzo — essentially Venice’s version of Bond Street. Think Saint Laurent, Dior, and polished storefronts. No cars, just polished stone underfoot.
It’s central. But not chaotic.
From the hotel, you can walk to:
– St. Mark’s Square in under 3 minutes
– Teatro La Fenice in 5 minutes
– Accademia Bridge in 10 minutes
For a first-time visitor, the location is hard to beat. For a returning visitor, it’s strategic.
What makes Nolinski Venezia different from other luxury hotels in Venice?
Nolinski Venezia blends modern Art Deco design with preserved 1929 stock exchange architecture for a bold, original luxury stay.
Venice is known for palazzos. Gilded ceilings. Heavy drapery.
Nolinski is different.
The building was originally Venice’s 1929 stock exchange — the first reinforced concrete structure in the city. EVOK restored the façade, ironwork, and Murano chandeliers, while introducing a more modern, Art Deco aesthetic inside.
Pink velvet chairs. Sculptural lighting. Contemporary Murano glass pieces.
It feels like Venice — but interpreted through a Parisian lens.
If you’ve stayed at traditional Grand Canal properties before, Nolinski feels fresh.
Are the rooms worth it?
The rooms at Nolinski Venezia are spacious, design-forward, and among the most luxurious modern stays in central Venice.
There are only 43 rooms and 13 suites, and each layout is slightly different.
Some have monumental bathtubs positioned in the center of oversized bathrooms. Others have vaulted ceilings or original Murano chandeliers balanced with mango wood detailing.
My room overlooked Basilica Santa Maria della Salute, and it was genuinely hard to leave. The scalloped powder-pink sofa has become something of a signature here — and yes, it’s as comfortable as it looks.
Small detail that impressed me: Dyson hair dryers in every suite, plus Dyson Airwraps available upon request. If you’re visiting during the Biennale or Film Festival, this matters.
It’s those small touches that signal real luxury.
Is Nolinski Venezia good for food and drinks?
Nolinski Venezia offers refined Venetian cuisine and inventive cocktails in one of the city’s most dramatic dining spaces.
The ground-floor restaurant, Il Caffé, serves Venetian cuisine with a modern Mediterranean edge. Think:
– cicchetti to start
– yellowtail carpaccio
– gnocchi cacio e pepe
– lobster linguine
– salt-crusted seabass
Breakfast is served in what was once the stock exchange trading floor — now a dramatic dining room with soaring ceilings.
But the real standout? The library bar.
Tucked away and lined with over 4,000 books, it feels intimate and cocooned. The cocktails are inventive without being theatrical. It’s the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned.
Does Nolinski have a pool and spa?
Yes — Nolinski Venezia has one of the most spectacular rooftop pools in Venice, plus a La Colline spa.
Venice is not known for rooftop pools.
Nolinski has one of the best.
The top-floor pool offers wraparound views across the city. Because the former stock exchange building is taller than many surrounding structures, the vantage point is unique. Gold mosaic tiles line the walls, and at sunset the light shifts beautifully across the water.
It’s easily one of the most impressive hotel spaces in Venice.
The spa partners with Swiss Alpine brand La Colline, offering facials and massages in a serene setting below.
After long days navigating Venice’s bridges and cobblestones, having a spa and pool is not just a luxury — it’s strategic.
Is Nolinski Venezia family-friendly?
Yes — Nolinski offers adjoining rooms, cots, babysitting services, and welcomes children warmly.
There are eight adjoining rooms, and the hotel provides cots and rollaway beds as needed. Babysitting can be arranged with notice, and baby monitors are available.
It’s polished but not stiff.
Is Nolinski Venezia accessible?
Nolinski Venezia is fully wheelchair accessible, including its rooftop pool, with four adapted rooms.
Venice itself presents mobility challenges. However, once you arrive, the hotel is accessible from top to bottom — including the pool level.

Who is Nolinski Venezia best for?
Nolinski is best for:
– travelers who have already done traditional Venetian palazzos
– design lovers
– couples visiting for Biennale or Film Festival
